soundtrack/s (2018)

I listen, later I draw. How might something invisible – sound – look? In these drawings (hybrids of ink-on-paper and digital), I’m not transcribing but inventing. My reference is our common sound environment that still exists as raw material, though aspects of it have been civilized and codified - music and speech, for example. These pages call for visual listening – but synesthesia is not required.

This is a visual book with words.

Branching is a connective process of linear expansion. 
Luggage is carried from place to place. Language, could be considered as a branch of luggage....

In this book photographs of branches have been complicated by language, which is baggage trying to pass as luggage.  
The content packed into this luggage is domestic, scientific and political - nothing is folded neatly, it's all jammed in among  branches, which remain unaffected by it.
