“Projection Lamp Catalog”, a visual, non-buying publication, is a selection of drawings  that focus on the distribution of information on a page.  The information is asemic – it has no semantic value.  The drawings consist of (analog and digital) marks deployed as signals rather than symbols. Patterns, echoes, vibrations, pulsations and waves suggest sound and motion in this exploration of non-verbal language.

Dearest, correspondences

Dearest, transforms email scams about money into poetry about human desire by way of erasure. Both the original and the transformation are presented on facing pages. These emails were accumulating in my junk mail box until I transferred them to my raw materials folder which I open in idle moments. These missives, these attempts to get something from someone for nothing and the language they use – is it intentional, or is it the result of a translation algorithm? Do these promises of money ever hook anyone? Erasure brings out another layer, no less desperate. The search for connection continues -- for better or worse.

DISTURBANCES

In this book, both story and locations are disturbed - interfered with - disarranged. The result is a sequence of pages that are like rooms unhampered by customary furniture through which a non-verbal story is woven....

soundtrack/s (2018)

I listen, later I draw. How might something invisible – sound – look? In these drawings (hybrids of ink-on-paper and digital), I’m not transcribing but inventing. My reference is our common sound environment that still exists as raw material, though aspects of it have been civilized and codified - music and speech, for example. These pages call for visual listening – but synesthesia is not required.
